The Hunger Games

I continued to re-read The Hunger Games so that i am even further up to date when i watch the movie that comes out very soon. Now that i have gone back and read more, more of what i can remember is coming back, It was just the little bits that i didn't remember. I am at the part where not only has Katniss volunteered for her little sister prim who was chosen but she has found out that the male tribute is Peeta. She describes the mixed feelings she is having perfectly, she then takes us back and tells us why Peeta is important. She has told me that she is sad, angry, confused, and brave. Even though the situation Katniss is in, she lets us know that she is having the same feelings she might have for example, on stage singing, dancing, acting, making a speech etc. Then she applies those feelings to the unrealistic situation she is in. This is just one of the many reasons i love these books and why im taking the time to re-read them so i highly suggest these books!

Today i decided to refresh my memory with the hunger games by re-reading it. I did this because the movie is coming out soon and i would like to be able to follow along. I now remember why i lover all three books so much. Although the writer has beautiful writing, she also has the power to describe something in detail and well in a short amount of time. This is one of the excellent books that lets you figure it out, not ones that say, "this is katniss, she lives in district twelve, her best friend is gale...etc." this is one that you find those three things out in the first 20 pages, not the first page. also, even though the author has created a fake scenario in all three books, if you were to live there, in that time the book is so realistic and is something that myself and others can relate to on certain levels. Such as katniss's emotions and the friction and "love" between her a Peeta. Katniss, although poor, she struggles yet provides and faces the facts and fears in life. She knows whats right and wrong and uses her logic and common sense to work her way through her unique life. I absolutely LOVE these books and could not put them down. I strongly suggest them to both genders and all ages.

Pretty Little Liars

Even though i dont keep up in the TV series and i haven't read the first few books, i read the fourth book on monday, the first three were taken so i began the fourth not knowing any back story. I thought it was interesting reading and only pretending i had known the characters. That sounds strange but it makes it even more of a mystery. I also really like the way the author writes, she leads you on and drops bits and pieces of information about the location, characters and emotions. She also spaces out the amount of information, so that you have time to estimate what might happen next. The way that the five girls are connected so well allows the author to keep things from you, things that only the characters know. i know that a lot of girls in the 7th grade have already taken interest in the TV show and books but these are new for me, and I finally see what everyone has been talking about. All in all i love these books more than i thought i would so i recommend highly them.

Twilight:

I picked up where i left off in the twilight book. I didn't get very far but a lot has happened. Edward and Bella from a car crash. Bella wants to know how he saved her but he wont tell her and they are furious with each other. In this situation they aren't speaking to each other but the author, (Stephenie Meyer) has made it interesting by describing the tension and feelings Bella has. Staphenie creates a realistic argument in this and i am thinking that this feud wont end easily. This is the thing i love most about these books, the writing. I know the plot inside out because of people talking about it but the writing is excellent. It creates a movie in you head, of what the location looks like, what the characters look like and everything about Bella's life. Thats how i know i'm reading a good book. When the author paints a picture in your head. The plot of this book comes off as awesome and not so great depending on who you are I didnt think it would be good but after the first 20 pages I loved it so i think people should really give it a try.

twilight:

I've only read about 50 pages of the first book in the saga, twilight. I think the book is excellent in many perspectives. One being that the author takes one event to another at a good pace, not to slow but not to fast. Also she describes Bella's mixed emotions about her school transition and about edward. I've noticed that i am more into fiction books with more realistic settings though. such as the maze runner, the lighting thief series, the hunger games, etc. and the reason is because books like these are ones you can relate to on less extreme levels but there is still a large area for creativity and fiction. Also, when reading good books, its like the book is painting a picture in your mind of every scene. yet every one sees it differently, when a movie is made out of the book, its cool to be able to see what the director saw and compare it with what you saw. all in all i love this book but i highly doubted i would ever like when i first heard of it. So i would most definitely give these books a try if you haven't already.

The death cure

I'm still on the death cure and Ive only gotten a little bit farther than here i was before. Right now Thomas and Brenda have formed with the right arm and have made a plan to bring wicked down and the plan is now in the first stage. Thomas "willingly" went back and joined wicked so that he could plant a device inside that would give Thomas and the right arm an advantage. That advantage is that the device disables the chips in all of the weapons, now they are at least competing with fair game. Since Thomas is going back to wicked, alone, that means everyone else (including the right arm) stays behind until the device is activated. Thomas seems confident with the plan, I think because he feels a sense of responsibility and leadership as well as the fact he may feel he is protecting his friends by going alone. Through out the books I notice that there are certain times and periods where it is clear he is confident and willing to do what ever it takes and how during that time he is either alone on a mission or leading a mission. Anyway, I'm eager to read on and see how their plan to destroy WICKED turns out. I hope you found this suggestion inspiring and choose to find out what happens for yourself.

The Death Cure

I'm on the third book in the maze runner series, its called, "the death cure" although the plot and idea of the story is much to complicated to describe i will say some about it. The book is by, James Dashner and he writes very well, with good detail and description. He paces his books well, during the three books your slowly learn about the world and the main character (Thomas) in bits and pieces. The book I'm reading, not the first to but the last one is about how a manmade virus was accidentally released causing people to go literally insane. thats what thomas's life is about, going through trials to find the cure for it. I love these books because the plot and the detail are so obscure that you wonder how the author every came up with it. other books like these are the hunger games, the lightning thief, and maximum ride. Books where as your read you think one thing might happen but the opposite happens, books where they solve one problem only to encounter another. thomas is described very well in this book, too. He isn't perfect, he has some conflicts and things to deal with and he is really very interesting to read about. all in all i strongly recommend this book, its thrilling exciting and interesting but its one of the best books i've ever read.
